Welcome to Sidegate Primary School

Welcome to our website which will give you a flavour for what our school is all about.

We are a busy and friendly school in the north of Ipswich with over 600 pupils across 23 classes.

Sidegate converted to become an academy in May 2014 and are proud members of Active Learning Trust. This has ensured excellent support for the school and enabled close collaborative work with a number of other schools both locally and further afield.

We create a happy working atmosphere where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential through an exciting, broad and balanced curriculum. We encourage children to value their contributions to the school and to celebrate their achievements whilst ensuring they are ready for the next stage of their educational journey.

The school is located on a large site with extensive playing fields and playgrounds. We have a wide range of learning resources for our pupils and our facilities include; a dedicated area for Forest Schools; a small pond and a variety of nature areas; a large library/learning zone; a dedicated classroom for teaching music.

We also work closely with the two independent providers who share our school site:

If you are interested in coming to see the school for yourself we would be delighted to show you our school and give you the opportunity to meet our staff and pupils. To book an appointment please call the School Office who will be happy to help you. Should you require a paper copy of the information on the website please also contact the school.

We look forward to meeting you

In addition to our mainstream classes, we have a Specialist Education Unit (SEU) which consists of two classes which provide specialist education for pupils with a range of complex needs. Admissions to our SEU are controlled by the Local Authority.
