28th May 2021
The decision made by the Governing Body, is that we will continue with our “COVID Uniform”, i.e. PE Kit on days when children have PE/Sports Clubs and normal uniform on other days.
However, we have decided that children may wear trainers to school every day, rather than school shoes. Alternatively, they can wear school shoes and keep a pair of trainers in school all of the time, so that they have suitable footwear for daily physical activity. Trainers must be mainly black or white, not brightly coloured.
From September, we will be challenging non-uniform items, so please ensure that you look carefully at what is / is not permitted and only buy “uniform”.
I would like to stress the need for pupils, especially girls, to wear appropriate school shoes that support their gait and posture. Hair accessories, earrings, etc must comply with our uniform policy.
We have included leggings as part of the PE Kit, as we know that children find these comfortable, but please ensure that they are: either knee or full length, are not see-through, and are not too tight.
We have changed PE shorts to black, as we know that these are easier to buy. However, if your child has green shorts that still fit, these may be worn during 2021/22 (you can buy black shorts for less than £5.00).
Below are clear, illustrated explanations of what is expected. Please, please look at them with your child before you go shopping for new uniform.
Please also make sure you put your child’s name in EVERYTHING they bring to school.
Thank you again for your responses and ongoing support.
Please support the school by ensuring your child has the correct school uniform (including colour). See the above uniform changes from September.
Sweat Shirts, Cardigans, Fleeces, PE Shorts, etc are available to purchase online or in-store from C&D Schoolwear or My Clothing. Other uniform items can be purchased online from large supermarkets or town centre shops. NB: Uniform may be purchased from any supplier and does not have to contain the school logo. Please ensure, however, that you have the correct school sweatshirt colour for your child's year group (bottle green is NOT uniform).
