Share a Story Live - Events (3-5 March)

Head over to the World Book Day website, or check out their Youtube channel to enjoy any of the following free events:

  • 10.30am on Wednesday 3rd March is themed around books that make children aged 7+ laugh out loud, and features authors from across the world of children’s literature.

  • 10.30am on Thursday 4th March is all about bringing stories to life, and children can expect Tom Fletcher, Joseph Coelho, and many more popular authors/illustrators to take part. Aimed at 4+

  • 10.30am on Friday 5th March is themed around books and the real world, and is a great event for KS2 children, with Katherine Rundell amongst the guests. Aimed at 9+

These events will each last approximately 30 minutes, and will remain on the World Book Day Youtube channel beyond the dates referenced, so do fit these events in around what works for you.

The World Book Day Website is offering FREE access to audiobooks, which are constantly being updated. They have an incredible selection of titles for all reading age groups and interests.

CBBC - Live Lesson

On Thursday morning at 11.30am on the CBBC tv channel, or on the BBC Teach website, KS2 children can enjoy a 30 minute live lesson focusing on the themes within stories and how to identify them, and hear about books others have enjoyed reading - a great way to get some recommendations!

Take a look at the 2021 £1 World Book Day titles, and pick your favourite - tokens will be issued to students in school from 8th March.
