Sidegate use Caterlink Ltd to provide school lunches to pupils.
Meals are priced at £2.30 (increasing to £2.40 in the autumn 2019 term) and milkshakes/snacks are available at break time for KS2 priced at 5op per item. A cashless system is used and payment can be made either by ‘Parentmail’ or by cash using the machine located in the front entrance of the school. Each child is provided with a PIN number which has to be entered into the machine. Children who are in Year R, Y1 and Y2 are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) and do not pay for their school lunch.
You may be entitled to a free school meal if you meet certain criteria. To find out if you are eligible, information is available at http://www.suffolk.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals. Not sure if you qualify? Apply anyway and the free school meals service will check for you. Registering for free school meals couldn’t be easier and you can now apply online. The Department for Education do not know which children are eligible for free school meals unless their parents apply successfully for funding. Applying for a free school meal does not mean that your child has to have school dinners but it does mean that the school will receive Pupil Premium funding for your child if you successfully apply. There is a helpline number on their website for you to call if you require assistance with the application.

Menu Changes for the remainder of Summer term
Our Head of Kitchen would like to use up any surplus ingredients before the end of term and this has resulted in some changes to the published menu options. Please see below.
Monday 15th July Vegetarian chilli will be served instead of the puff pastry turnover, as well as sweetcorn and apple crumble/custard.
Tuesday 16th July Menu as published.
Wednesday 17th July Y6 Leavers' Lunch Year 6 have chosen hotdogs/macaroni cheese with wedges and mixed vegetables together with chocolate brownie for dessert. These options will be available to all year groups on the day.
Thursday 18th July We will be offering our Wednesday menu on this day, roast turkey/Quorn toad in the hole, jacket potatoes, vegetables and apple pie/custard.
Friday 19th July Menu as published.
Monday 22nd July Pizza/vegetarian Bolognese, vegetables and cake.
Tuesday 23rd July Fish fingers and chips will be available, as well as a selection of other Caterlink dishes/vegetables and desserts.
